34th TISFF announces int’l animation lineup

The 34th Tehran Int’l Short Film Festival picks 24 animation titles for main competition section.

The selection committee of the 34th edition of the Tehran International Short Film Festival (TISFF) has selected 24 titles to compete at the international animation section.

The festival’s official website recently announced the titles, from among some 6000 films submitted to the festival, in animation competition list where works from some 20 countries will compete.

‘Hanging’ by Nick Ledonne from the US, ‘Grandma Loleng’ by Cheryl Tagyamon from the Philippines, ‘Resistance Zucchinis’ by Patrick De Carvalho from France, ‘Framed’ by Salvo Cutaia from Italy, ‘As A Little Bird I…’ by Yyhely Hälvin from Estonia, and ‘Volcano Island’ by Anna Katalin Lovrity from Hungary are in the lineup.

The list goes on with ‘Li. Le’ by Natia Nikolashvili from Georgia, ‘20 Kicks’ by Dimitar Dimitrov from Bulgaria, ‘The Tree’ by Alena Vandasova from Czech Republic, ‘The Maze’ by Mu-Cen Xie from Taiwan, as well as ‘Nocturne’ by Anne Breymann and ‘Shine’ by Mareike Keller, both from Germany.

‘The Neverending Wall’ by Silvia Carpizo De Diego from Spain, ‘Ślady Ulotne’ by Agnieszka Waszczeniuk from Poland, ‘Wall’ by Chang Su-Hwa from Taiwan, ‘Journal Animé’ by Donato Sansone from France, and ‘Le Marcheur’ by Frédéric Hainaut as well as ‘Lagune’ co-directed by Labaye Mathieu and Letaïf Hannah, both from Belgium, are among the selected films as well.

The lineup also includes ‘Little Wonders’ by Triet Le from Vietnam, ‘Second To None’ by Vincent Gallagher from Ireland, ‘And the Moon Stands Still’ by Yulia Ruditskaya from Belarus, ‘Ils Tombent Tous’ by Joann Guyonnet from France, ‘Farewell’ by Leon Vidmar from Slovenia, and ‘Paths’ by Raquel Felgueiras from Portugal.

The event includes national competition, international competition and out of competition sections.

The 34th edition of the Tehran International Short Film Festival, to be directed by Seyyed-Sadeq Mousavi, is slated for October 17-22 in the Iranian capital city.

Organized by IYCS, affiliated to the Ministry of Culture and Islamic Guidance and a member of International Short Film Conference, the festival is aimed to provide an opportunity for young filmmakers to exchange their experiences.
